    3. ADAMS, NOTTINGHAM "The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Monday, November 13, 1916 DEATHS IN KANSAS CITY. James M. ADAMS, 83 years old, a native of Jackson County, died at his farm, two miles south of Buckner, yesterday morning. His father, Lynchburg ADAMS, settled on a farm near Atherton, Mo., in 1827. James ADAMS attended Chapel Hill College, formerly a widely known school in Lafayette County. He married Miss Ann E. NOTTINGHAM. In the Civil War he served under Colonel BURNS in the Third Missouri Confederate Infantry. In 1884 he was elected to the state legislature from the first District of Jackson County. The funeral services will be held in the Methodist Church of Buckner of 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The burial will be in Buckner Cemetery.
