"The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Tuesday, May 31, 1921 DEATHS IN GREATER KANSAS CITY. J. P. DOWNS of Los Angeles, formerly a restaurant proprietor of Kansas City, died yesterday in the tubercular hospital at Leeds. According to Dr. H. E. MOSS, deputy coroner, death was due to poison taken Saturday night with suicidal intent. Mr. DOWNS was an inmate of the hospital since April 11.
