    3. "The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Friday, December 17, 1909 SMALLPOX IN WHITE CHURCH. A public dance given on Thanksgiving night at White Church, a Wyandotte County village, is believed by Dr. W. F. WOOD of Bethel and Dr. D. E. SMITH, county physician of Wyandotte County, to have been the means of spreading a disease of which there are fifty cases in the central part of Wyandotte County. Three cases at White Church have been diagnosed as smallpox. The symptoms in the cases reported have been similar to those in the cases examined. Yesterday Doctor SMITH ordered the schools at White Church to close until January 3, and all cases of the disease have been quarantined. One hundred children attend the school and three teachers are employed. ================================================= (I have no connection with these people but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) =================================================
