"The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Monday, April 9, 1917 STREET CAR HIT A MOTOR. A northbound Country Club car, driven at a high rate of speed, crashed into the motor car of John J. DIMMITT, 3315 Robert Gillham Road, yesterday afternoon at Thirty-eighth and Main Street, severely injuring four of the five occupants of the motor car. J. J. DIMMITT, Jr., who was driving the car, was the only one to escape uninjured. The street car hit one of the rear wheels of the motor and knocked it onto the sidewalk at the northwest corner of the street intersection. The machine's occupants were thrown out. Mr. and Mrs. DIMMITT and their guests, Mr. and Mrs. E. G. BEALL, who live in the Weaver Apartments, Fortieth Way and Main Streets, required emergency treatment. Mrs. BEALL suffered severely from shock and possible internal injuries. Mr. BEALL was injured in the side and on the hands. Mr. and Mrs. DIMMITT were only slightly injured and were able to go to their home in a motor car. Mr. and Mrs. BEALL were taken to St. Mary's Hospital. G. M. REICHIE was conductor and J. S. McDAVID motorman of the street car.
