Our granduncle Henry Hurt POTTER (13 Jan 1874 Marshall, Saline, MO - 15 Jul 1955 Kansas City, Jackson, MO) was married to Josephine Hazel ???. They lived at 3554 Agnes Ave. in KC. His obituary stated his occupation as "real estate broker." Family stories also had him in the group surrounding Tom Pendergast, even though no written record can be located confirming that "social" relationship. Oral history suggested that they were common-law married. We have never been able to corroborate this information even though his obituary had her as his spouse. One writing also suggested that they may have lived with a Mr. Trossky (sp?) (Jo's cousin by marriage) President of School Board in Joplin, Jasper, MO, where he may have been a principal and/or teacher in an elementary school in downtown Joplin. We are seeking to fill in the blank as to Josephine ("Jo") Hazel's surname...any help? Thank you.
