"The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Monday, February 8, 1904 A KANSAS CITY CHILD ACTRESS. "Baby" Zena KEIFE, the 6-year-old child actress, who is one of the two children alternating in the leading part in the "Fatal Wedding," which comes to the Gilliss theater next week, is a Kansas City child and formerly lived with her parents here. Her mother, Mrs. Alice D. KEIFE, who travels with her, was born and educated here. "Baby" Zena will be 7 years old this coming June. She has been a member of the company since it opened three years ago. She plays the part of "Jessie, the little mother," in "The Fatal Wedding." It is said to be the longest speaking part for a child since "Little Lord Fauntleroy" was dramatized. It is so long and tedious that two children alternate in the performances. "Baby" Zena will open at the Gilliss Sunday afternoon. In the evening, Cora QUINTEN, another precocious child, will play the part. ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ======================================================
