"The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Wednesday, March 28, 1917 DEATHS IN KANSAS CITY. Adolph DOSE, for thirty-five years a saloon keeper at 1403 Grand Avenue, died at 6:45 o'clock yesterday afternoon at his home, 2304 Harrison Street. Mr. DOSE retired from the saloon business last October. He was born in Hameln, Germany, sixty-eight years ago. In 1870 he came to Kansas City from Germany and engaged in the feed business for five years. He was a member of the volunteer fire department before the city department was organized. He was a member of the Turnverein, a former president of the German Hospital Association, a charter member of the German Alliance, a member of the Kansas City Krankenschuetz, and the Druids, a musicians' organization. Mr. DOSE was instrumental in having calisthenics made part of the public school curriculum. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise DOSE; two sons, Charles DOSE of Chicago and George DOSE of St. Louis; two daughters, Mrs. Hans DIERKS, 3442 Paseo, and Mrs. J. W. KYGER of Brooklyn, N.
