NEWBY, 73 years old, died at his home, 2124 Walrond Avenue, at 9:05 o'clock yesterday morning. Mr. NEWBY formerly conducted a dry goods store at 919 East Fifteenth Street but had lived in Los Angeles for the last two years. He returned to Kansas City in July. He lived in Kansas City nine years. Three sons, H. E. NEWBY, H. C. NEWBY, and E. B. NEWBY of this city, and five daughters, Mrs. E. J. BURNS of this city, Mrs. C. A. PAYNE, Bedford, Ind., and Nellie Lena and Bessie NEWBY of this city, survive. Funeral services will be held at Louisburg, Kas., tomorrow morning. Is there any indexes for death, cemetery or obituaries for Kansas City, KS? I am looking for a Charles K. Wells who was 86 years old on the 1930 census. He was an attorney and president of a bank in KC, KS, so I would think there would be a good writeup on him. He had a 44 year old son living with him (single) named Leonidas(?) in 1930.
