EGELHOFF, 618 Oak street, said he was knocked down early yesterday morning by two men at Seventh street and Grand avenue. The men, he said, were frightened away by persons on the sidewalk. He was treated for a bruised nose by Dr. Fred R. BERRY at the emergency hospital. Charles NELSON, 107 Park avenue, reported that he was robbed of $15 by two men on Park avenue, near Lexington avenue, late Saturday night. When Hugh CARENS returned to his home at the Richelieu hotel, Twelfth street and Broadway, about midnight Saturday, he found that he had lost $24. He places the blame upon an unknown young man who leaned against him in a Twelfth street car two hours before. Among the things missed at the home of W. C. FRAEGER, 1417 Euclid avenue, New Year's day are: One pearl pin, one pin set with pearls and small chip diamonds, one bracelet engraved "Gertrude Mitchell," one old-fashioned gold bracelet, black enameled, engraved on inside; one watch of two or three shades of gold, engraved "Papa and Mamma to Gertrude;" one gold watch engraved "M. M." on the lid; one watch chain with chip diamond in the slide, and one cameo pin. Mrs. E. M. BECKER told the police yesterday that someone had taken her brown fur coat, valued at $100, from her room at 613 East Twelfth street. The home of Mrs. B. J. TIFFANY, 1909 Montgall avenue, was entered Saturday night and a woman's gold watch and long chain taken. The watch was engraved "Zetta, 1900." J. M. AXTELL of Helena, Mo., slept soundly Friday night in his room at the Cottage hotel, 803 Wyandotte street.
