    3. Amy, go to the KERR Message Board on RootsWeb. I've posted 12 obits there, including a James who died in 1921. Do an "advanced search" on the Board. Enter in the "by author" box: John OBRIEN and all my posting will come up. A date of death is needed for an obit lookup. You may need to obtain a death certificate.     3. John, Do you know how far back the States of Missouri and Kansas recorded birth and death certificates? I know the Catholic Church sometimes will have records dating before it became the law to record births and deaths, and every state is different.
