"The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Monday, March 12, 1917 MARRIED HALF A CENTURY. Mr. and Mrs. Fred LEGLER of Lenexa, Kas., celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Saturday. Mr. LEGLER moved to Johnson County from Franklin County in 1864. He visited Wyandotte, which now is Kansas City, Kas., with his parents when land now occupied by Armour's packing plant was worth $4 an acre. The LEGLERs were not impressed with the timbered conditions and chose the higher ground near Lenexa. After their marriage in 1867, Mr. and Mrs. LEGLER settled on a farm a mile from Lenexa and lived there until five years ago, when they moved to Lenexa. ====================================================== (I have no connection with this person but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) ======================================================
