BOOKS, CONGDON, VANCE "The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Saturday, March 31, 1917 Mrs. Erma VANCE BOOKS and Maj. Claude CONGDON, commanding the second battalion of the Third Regiment, were married yesterday at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. VANCE, 4329 Summit Street. The ceremony was at 4:30 o'clock. Only immediate friends attended. The Rev. Frank G. SMITH, pastor of the First Congregational Church officiated. Immediately after the wedding dinner, Major CONGDON rejoined his command.
