"The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Saturday, March 10, 1917 BOY SCOUTS SAVED A HOUSE Robert SCHMALFELDT, Jr., at the head of a troop of Boy Scouts, saved from burning yesterday afternoon the home of George L. JENNINGS, 1525 Colorado Avenue. The Scouts were playing basket ball across the street from the JENNINGS home, when a bonfire escaped bounds and threatened the home.
