"The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Wednesday, March 12, 1913 DEATHS IN KANSAS CITY. Mrs. Michael FITZGIBBON, 85 years old, died yesterday at her home, 3704 Bell Street. She had lived in Kansas City since 1888, and she came here from Ontario, Canada. Her birthplace was in Ireland. Mrs. FITZGIBBON was the mother of thirteen children, none of whom ever married. Five living still. The youngest is 45 years old. Thomas and Cornelius are in the tobacco business. James is a portrait artist, with a studio in the Temple Block. The other survivors are Miss Catherine and Miss Mary FITZGIBBON. All of the children live at home. Their father died in Kansas City about eight years ago. Mrs. FITZGIBBON lived until 1872 in Ireland. She was a personal friend of Anthony TROLLOPE, the English novelist, and of Gerald GRIFFIN, Irish poet and dramatist. Funeral services will be at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Washington and Shaefer avenue, at 9 o'clock Thursday morning. Burial will be in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery. "In one respect we were not dutiful children," said James FITZGIBBON, the artist, in speaking of the failure of any of the family to marry.
