    2. Sounds like someone didn't know the word turnhalle (gynmasium) or turnien (gymnastics)where this Herr Dr. likely taught. There was a building on old l5th street with turnhalle on the keystone and I was told it was a German gym where they did exercises like they did in the old country. And his late residence would be about where the County Court House was built about l938?? In a message dated 10/30/2008 5:29:32 P.M. Dr. BENIFELD was born in Augusta, Mo., on November 17, 1855, and came to Kansas City in 1872. In 1883 he held the position of teacher of gymnastics at the Kansas City tournament. He studied medicine at the University Medical college and was graduated from there in 1895. An aged mother and a sister, Mrs. STIRN, survive him. The funeral will be held from his late residence tomorrow at 3 o'clock.
