"The Kansas City Post" (Missouri) Monday, May 27, 1912 PHILANTHROPIST DEAD. Mrs. Mary AUSTIN, 68 years old, died at noon today at her home, 3211 Independence avenue, from a stroke of paralysis received some time ago. Mrs. AUSTIN was the wife of L. B. AUSTIN, a retired merchant, and was prominent in Kansas City club and church circles. Mrs. AUSTIN was a member of the Women's Relief corps, the Humans society and the Institutional church. Many philanthropic enterprises were originated by her, among them the public drinking fountain. Besides her husband, Mrs. AUSTIN is survived by five children. They are: Mrs. E. C.
