John - can't say for certain. I took that date from info garnered from Civil War pension ap, which I have at home, and from Ancestry's listing of the Civil War records for that family. Yes, I am reasonably sure she died in KC - all her sisters & their kin moved to Calif., but Lucy's oldest dau., Georgia was mar. to Louis Reppell, both families were in the 1912 City Directory, son Horace was mar. by 1912 or shortly thereafter (you found the record for me), and lived & died (1938) in KC; single dau (Lucille) of Lucy & Ross went into a Catholic Children's institution, & I find her in 1920 (?)census, there as an "inmate" in her 40's, so, I think it makes sense she is bur. with husband Ross, but I can't remember where his obit says he was buried. I don't remember, I just brought a few notes with me. I had hoped we might strike "paydirt" with your approach. Thanks, Eleanor - we'll find her! > Eleanor, darn! She's not listed in the KC "Times" section of obits. > There's a chance her obit was a separate article (which wouldn't surprise me > because of her husband), or she is in the death/funeral notice section of > the paper. Or her obit could be in the other KC paper, the "Star". > > Are you absolutely sure she died in April 1922, and was she living in KC at > her death? > > John > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <eleanormccain@attbi.com> > To: <KansasCity-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Monday, February 17, 2003 2:39 PM > Subject: Re: [KansasCity] April 1922 vote > > > > Mrs Lucy E Guffin, widow of Maj.
