I'm spending a tremendous amount of time (and $, I guess) following up an 1880's family scandal. Most of it takes place in Illinois but there is a strong Missouri (as well as elsewhere) component. In fact, in the course of researching this one, I uncovered some leads to another one in a different branch of the family. Is this a big deal for the family today? No one even remembers it. It made all the difference in our history, but the story was buried.
