    1. Re: [KANSASCITY] CAROLTHERS, ESTES, HERBOLD
    2. Lots of Estes family all over.. went to school with Nadine Estes at Ashland and then East High. Might find family in l930 census on Quincy or Denver street between 24-26th blocks. We have Shawn Estes, who has pitched for several major league teams from Gardnerville, Nevada and now lives in Scottsdale AZ. So looks likes the Estes family migrated west -so who knows which are related. The best suggestion is the Kansas City family. In a message dated 1/10/2009 1:40:21 P.M. The names that you have the month and year would not take too long to find. You will have to search day by day .......... just takes a little time. It would not be practical to search with just the year. However, you might find the names in a Wyandotte County cemetery book at the Independence Library and then have better dates. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeff Day" <jeffrey-day@sbcglobal.net> To: <kansascity@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, January 10, 2009 2:56 PM Subject: Re: [KANSASCITY] CAROLTHERS, ESTES, HERBOLD Yes, I live in Leawood. --- On Sat, 1/10/09, John O'Brien <JohnOBrien@kc.rr.com> wrote: From: John O'Brien <JohnOBrien@kc.rr.com> Subject: Re: [KANSASCITY] CAROLTHERS, ESTES, HERBOLD To: kansascity@rootsweb.com Date: Saturday, January 10, 2009, 12:58 PM Jeff, I did a search using the dates you provided. Didn't get any matches. Do you live in the Kansas City area? I thought you mentioned where you were in another eamail but I can't find it. But I did an on-line search of greater Kansas City through my library, matched items would be prior to 1977. I didn't get any matches for HERBOLD but got 108 matches for CAROTHERS and 557 matches for ESTES. What are the given names for ESTES and CAROTHERS? Do you have any with that surname? Also the names Estes and Carothers. Thanks so much for all you do. Over the years I've made many copies and I started a projected to get all KC obits from 1910 to 1923. Who are some of the people you are looking for and about when did they die? Maybe we can help. Have you been up to the Mid-Continent Library in Independence (genealogy branch). Some of the Wyandotte County cemeteries have been indexed and the Library has the books. Your people may be listed. As I mentioned in a previous e-mail, I have had family tied to Wyandotte County since the 1860's. But I don't have any date of death for them. Therefore, looking for an obit is a needle in a haystack.
