First time I can recall anyone writing about the old Blues Stadium. How many can recall the early to mid 1940"s when the Kansas City Blues were a Triple A team? When they won the AAA championship with Hank Bauer, Cliff Mapes, Harry Craft, and many other later stars in the majors? When Carl DeRose pitched his last ball game knowing he had to have shoulder surgery that would end his caree? A perfect no run, no hit, no error game. The game was out of town, broadcast play by play by ticker tape. I know, I was there.
