I live in Indiana now but was born and raised in KCMO. My family all resides at Mt Washington Cemetery now except for one brother. I've been searching to find out who my grandfather was. In 20 years I've not found one shred of evidence he ever existed other than my dad's birth which wasn't recorded. His name was Bert Mills who was from the Baxter Springs KS area. Bert supposedly worked for the gas company and laid the first gas lines into OK. Bert married Stella Carroll and my dad was born in 1908. I find dad starting school in KC in 1915. The Carroll's were railroaders. So, I'm searching for Mills and Carroll's in the KC area. My other grandfather was a German immigrant who died in 1909 in Iowa. With a very common name like Joseph Wagner I'm also unable to find him. He died before the big census in 1910 or I may have something. Just sad that I can take my grandmother's family to England in 1500's but can't tell anyone who my grandfathers were!! I have really enjoyed the list over the years. I send items to my brother occasionally who also enjoys reading about the history recorded here. I love reading John's newspaper clippings! My dad (Guy/Buster Mills) was a fireman in KC and when he retired in the late 70's he was the longest city employee KC had ever had.
