MORRIS to Miss Mary CARTER on next Wednesday. The contracting parties live south of the city near the Junction and are popular society young people. William MIDDLEKAUFF and wife will leave soon on an extended trip through the East. Willis HOKE is seriously ill. Mr. Newton PHALP returned yesterday morning from a visit to friends at Ottawa. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles BLACKMAN, a boy. Dave HUNT went to Topeka yesterday on business. Mrs. FISH, of Kansas City, Mo., and daughter, Mrs. BREISH, of Platte City, Neb., are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. ADAMSON. There will be a social ball in the Brown-Reichert hall on Strong avenue this evening. Mrs. J. T. LANDREY will return to-day from a week's visit with friends and relatives in Paola, Kas. August SNYDER will be tried in Justice COOK's court to-day for abusing his wife. The ladies of the Baptist church will give a social Thursday evening in the grove near the residence of Mr. DROLLINGER, on First street. Charles BLOOD, James MILLS and Bush LANE leave to-night for Steamboat Springs, Col. They will hunt elk on Hahn's peak. James GIBSON returned yesterday from Chillicothe, Mo., where his wife and family are visiting relatives. Mrs. GIBSON has been seriously ill, but is convalescing. Rev. D. M. McCLELLAN left last night for a few days visit with friends at Somonauk, Ill. The ladies of the Eastern Star will be entertained this afternoon by Mrs. C. E. BRUCE at her residence, 628 Freeman avenue. Rev. Mr. SIMPSON, of Leavenworth, is in the city, the guest of Fireman Joseph LANGFORD. Attorney A. L. BERGER left last nigh for Summerfield, Ill. Mrs. Hattie GILLILIAM and daughter, of Fairview, Kas., and Mrs. J. H. WHITE and daughter, of Horton, Kas., are the guests of Mrs. J. M. SWEARINGEN, of 823 Nebraska avenue. The Rev. A. J. NOTESTINE, pastor of the Seventh Street Methodist Episcopal church, will leave to-day for Arkansas City to attend the annual conference. C. W. LAMAR has removed his office to No. 529 Minnesota avenue. Insures against loss by fire, windstorms and cyclones. Sarah L. BEVEREDGE filed two foreclosure suits in the district court yesterday. The petition seeks judgment against Thomas M. HILTON in the sum of $1,400, and against Theodore EMMERSON for $400. County Attorney COBB filed two suits in the district court yesterday to collect on the forfeited bonds of W. B. ROBINSON and B. W.
