That's a pretty good idea. I have wondered whether Mary might have died in prison or in a mental institution. But the rumors say she died because she was cleaning ribbons in gasoline and they caught fire, and then her along with it. It doesn't seem like they would have allowed a person in one of those institutions to be playing around with gasoline near an open flame. Not because they cared so much about the inmates, but because they didn't want their building to burn down! The other thing is that she seemed to have voluntarily sold her land, and then went off on her own. In that case there wouldn't have been anybody around to have had her committed.
