"The Kansas City Journal" (Missouri) Sunday, September 21, 1902 (page 3) DEATH UNDER DRAY'S WHEEL. An inquest over the body of John KERR, 8 years old, stepson of Edgar F. BRIERTON, a butcher employed at Second and Locust streets, who was killed yesterday morning by being run over by a dray belonging to Renne Bros., will be held tomorrow morning. The little boy lived with his parents, 804 East Fifteenth street, and he was playing with his toy wagon on Charlotte street between Fourteenth and Fifteenth streets when the accident occurred. In an attempt to get out of the way of another dray he feel under the front wheel of the one driven by F. R. HUNSTON. The driver tried to stop in time to save the boy, but the wheel passed over his head, crushing it and killing him instantly. The driver was not arrested as the evidence seemed clear that he had done all in his power to prevent the accident. The Rev. Frank B. CRISSMAN, pastor of Dundee Methodist church, will officiate.
