Hi John, I read your posts and you have helped me. The thing I enjoy the most is living outside of the state it's nice to know that someone at home can do something for me I can't at the moment. So thank you. The order would probably be 1,3,2,5,4. Is it possible there might be a list of practicing attorneys in KS circa 1891-1930 or so. You have helped me before. Katherine (also known as Kitty) JOHNSON signed papers for and application of CW Pension for her sister. She was not only an attorney but her sisters guardian. I have no idea why she had to have a guardian. another question since you are so helpfull Is it possible to get pension application papers filed in Mo in May of 1891/ If so how? And i join the others in appreciating you. John, 1,2,3,4,5 would be great! My mother's side of the family had some "questionable" characters whom I would love to get the lowdown on if it is in the newspapers. Seems as if, especially in our family, if someone did something on the wrong side of the law that no one ever heard about it past that generation. Then little hints come about and there is no one left to tell the tale. I would love to know those tales, but realistically I know that most of those stories are gone for good. I was born and raised in KC MO, my parents are both still going strong in their 80's and living in the same house in Ruskin Heights. My husband was born and raised in KC MO also....so we have our roots that are very deep there, but as I said, the tales have faded to memories of our older relatives and those memories are spotty in the best of times. So please keep on with your wonderful information.....It is greatly appreciated! Marijean missmari@cableone.net Emporia KS

Hi John, 2, 1, 5, 4, 3, My biggest problem is finding info from the 1890's where the Census is not available! Thanks, D
Hi Everyone, Just a word on the 1880 Census at the Family Research site. Yes, it is there and it is a useful tool; but, like everything else, it is only as accurate as the original census takers and the present transcribers were and are. I have found errors in listings of known ancestors on my mother's side and have yet to find relatives on my father's side. I know they were somewhere, but have yet to find even a hint of anything. John, Virtually anything that you post is of interest, although it would be nice to see something referring to the RECORD, FARNSWORTH, and/or WEIHS surnames, from 1880 on through 1910 or so. In terms of general interest, I would like to express my appreciation for the work you have gone to to post so much information. I have to admit that I have particularly enjoyed the miscellaneous anecdotes from the newspapers, items which may have no direct bearing on my particular ancestors but which do enliven my idea of the lives they led.
