Paul, here is the note regarding the pictures. You need to contact Valerie. ================================= >From : Lewis Valerie D MSgt 415 FLTF/CSS <Valerie.Lewis@RANDOLPH.AF.MIL> To : KSWyando-L@rootsweb.com Subject : {not a subscriber} Lorentzson Family Date : Thu, 20 Feb 2003 12:36:07 -0700 This may sound kind of stupid, but, is there anyone researching the Lorentzson family history? And if so, do you have a branch in Texas. I was at a flea market (just outside of San Antonio) the other day and they had a ton of old pictures (circa late 1800s-early 1900s) with the last name Lorentzson (and some first names) written on the back of the pictures. Some of the pictures had Kansas City written on the back also-but I wasn't sure if that meant Kansas City, Kansas or Kansas City, Missouri. I thought the name was unusual enough that I might could locate a family researching this branch. If it's not any of you guys, please forgive the email. I just hated to pass up a chance to get the pictures back to someone who might enjoy them. McNEIL was stabbed in the back at 6:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon by John ADAMS in the saloon owned by the former at 7 East Twelfth street. A party of men were playing cards in the saloon and quarreled over a charge of holding out cards. The cut was made four inches to the left of the spine by a dirk knife, and, although a painful wound, is not of a serious nature. ADAMS, who is by trade a painter, was not arrested. ============================================ (I have no connection with this person but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) ============================================ 2
The KC Library will photocopy pages from the microfilm for a fee. They sent me about 25 years worth of the TABER's from the city directories. You need to fill out a form on-line to make the request and they will respond, or as they did in my case, just send the copies with an invoice. "The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Friday, June 30, 1911 NO BRIDE AFTER A LONG TRIP A Pullman Conductor Found a Journey to Wyoming Useless Dear Leonard: I don't know how to say what I want to. All I know is that I don't love you any more. I tried to keep loving you, but after I met Roy it was impossible. I appreciate all you have done for me. It is better that you know this now. Elsie Two years ago Leonard E. STURGES, a Pullman conductor, 2609 North Eighth Street, Kansas City, Kas., became engaged to Elsie LYONS, his next door neighbor. The wedding was postponed until she became 18. Shortly after the engagement, the LYONS family moved to Saratoga, Wyo. Elsie became of age June 14 and the wedding was announced for June 22. STURGES was to bring his bride back to Kansas City, Kas., so he bought a home and furnished it. He also bought a trousseau for his bride. He arrived in Saratoga June 17 for the wedding, but fate intervened. Elsie became acquainted with Royal AINSWORTH, a lumber jack, two weeks before the arrival of STURGES and three days later they ran away, leaving the note as the only explanation. STURGES wired to Greely and received the information that AINSWORTH and his bride had just left for the mountains, where the girl became cook in the lumber camp. ============================================ (I have no connection with these people but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) ============================================

Richard, I'm sorry you got suckered, but don't feel alone. I got stuck with one too but had used a credit card so was able to fight their three times a month charges for service. Since you did this through the internet, have you thought of going through Paypal? I've never had anything to do with them, but would consider letting them know that the company in question is openly practicing fraud.
