Now is the time for all of you men who know about greyhound racisng to help me out. My grandmother's sister, Fay Smith, married a Lawrence Freeman. He owned and raced a greyhound named Mission Boy. I know they moved around and have a picture taken in FL. I have found them on the 1930 census in IL. but I have reason to believe that they were in the Kansas City, Kansas area around 1920. That is where her mother, Jane Peterson, was at the time. Was there a greyhound track in Kansas City? Does anyone have a picture post card of Mission Boy or Lawrence Freeman? Thanks, Sue
Hi! My name is Chris Mott. I am researching Walter C. FELCH , born about 1849 in Arkansas. It appears that Walter came to the Kansas City area sometime around 1870. He married twice -- first to Jane MURRAY, born about 1854, then to Auretta WHITE, 1871 - 1914. Walter's children were Clara A., Ida E., Walter E., William C., Maud, Leanora, Pearl, Oscar, Dewey, Hallard, Edna and Helen. I believe Walter's mother's maiden name was Mary E. MOTT. Any info or clues will be greatly appreciated. Of course, I will be pleased to share data.
To the person researching BARTLETTs, do your BARTLETTs connect back to MOSA, Middlesex Co., Ontario Canada? I am researching for the family of George William Mattox b. Jan 10, 1868 in MO, d. May 30, 1959 in CA. I do not definitely have his parents. The Mattox family was from the Kansas city area and it is my understanding there are still Mattox cousins in Kansas City. George William Mattox married Francis Evalina Price, daughter of R.H. Price in 1888. R.H. Price was b. @1843 Kentucky. He was in the Hickman Mills area near Kansas City in the 1880 census. Of course...no 1890 census and he was no longer in the census by 1900. I believe him to be the son of Robert Price from Maryland. There are two R.H. Price's born Kentucky...same age 7...in MO in the 1850 census of Cass and Jackson Counties. I would really love to find someone else researching this family. I know I have some Mattox cousins out there. Hoping to connect. Glenda Lamka Brenham, Texas

I have not heard of an anouncement about roll call, but the surnames I am searching in Kansas City, MO are McNellis, Carr and Shelley about 1890-1915. Thank you. Deloris J. McDowell = [email protected]
My Great Grandmother, Jane Smith Peterson, moved to the Kansas City, Kansas area around 1920 and was there till her death in 1957. She was married to Jacob Peterson. She had a son named Martin Luther Smith that lived in Kansas City, Mo. around 1930. Also her grandson, Daniel Budd Smith, worked and lived in the Kansas City area in the 1940s and 1950s. There is an infant NELSON buried next to her that is a mystery as Kansas is a closed state on birth and death certificates. Thanks, Sue
As someone else pointed out, it's sos.state.mo.gov/archives/resources/birthdeath, not ."..mo.us", and you don't really need the "default" at the end of the address. V.G. in Independence

Am trying to locate information on Ruth and her mother. Ruth was born in KC in 1925. Went to high school at Northeast High about 1940's. Worked at Tension Envelope Co in the 50's. Was married but cant remember married name. Know she had a daughter named Elizabeth. Vera was Ruth's mother. She worked at Poindexter Dry Goods and retired from there in the 50's. The last place she lived was around the area south of Independence Ave on Spruce.. Ruth is my father's sister. Thanks in advance for any help. Pat F. in Utah
