    2. What was the name of your Kahle that came to IL? MY husband is related to a Kahle that came from Steimbke, Hanover, Germany. He is also looking for a Donald Kahle that he was in service with. He would be about 80 now if he is still alive. Grace

    3. Hi I haven't hear anything about this lately. Did we do it? My Kahles settle in Cooper Co, Missouri for the most part. But one went to New Zealand, One to IL. ,one in texas, and one totally lost to us. They came from Hoheneggelsen, Hannover and Linden, Hanover. I would love to hear where others are from in German -- I would love to know if there is any connection from our family in Germany. The names I see in my Kahle family tree are many of the names I see in the post to his list. So I wonder if their is a connect in German. 3. Hi Nathan, While I would be willing to post some of my research on a password protected site, I think that tends to discourage new researchers. I had to get a password to see the research of a Kahle researcher who lives in Alaska and now I have no idea what was available there. Perhaps each of us should post our research interests. My Kahles came to settled in Perth County, Ontario about 1850, possibly spending some time in Waterloo County. It appears to me that many of their relatives immigrated about the same time to Kansas and Missouri and in fact there are examples of intermarriage between the two groups. The Kahles seem to have immigrated from Hannover Germany. Other Kahles moved from Perth County to Detroit Michigan (a very common pattern of immigration) about 1920 and some of these then moved to the St.Paul - Minneapolis area. I am also researching the Eisler family. My grandmother Joanna Kahle married John Eisler. Her father was Adolphe Kahle, and his parents were born in Germany. The Kahles were Lutheran. Walt Disneys grandfather immigrated from Germany to Ontario before moving on to the US and one of his artists had the last name of Kahl. I often wondered if this was a variation on Kahle. 1. Ancestry.com to sell Family Tree data
    2. If you have submitted a family tree to Ancestry.com, you might want to know of the change about to be implemented by them. The Family Trees that have been donated to Ancestry for free distribution to other researchers are about to be sold by subscription: the OneWorldTree Preview cost will be $49.95 for 14 months. If you'd prefer that your information was not sold, there is a link below which will take you to a set of instructions on opting out by deleting your tree. After clicking on the link and arriving at the page, click on "What's a preview?" near the top of the page. Read thoroughly and then click on "View our checklist" (which appears on #3). Among other things, you will see the following sentence: "If for any reason you do not want your tree to be part of the new OneWorldTree service, you must delete it from the Ancestry World Tree database by tentatively May 21, 2004." This is the link: http://www.ancestry.com/search/rectype/trees/owt/
