Trying to tie in the JOSLINS from Natick with the MCCALLION and O"MALLEY families who lived next door to them in the 1950's. I was only about 7 or 8 years old then and only remember they lived beside a cemetery and they were American Indians. They used to take my mother and aunt to a reservation for the summer when they were children according to my aunt Dotty. She has no idea what the reservation name was, but it was in Nova Scotia she thinks. Sorry I don't have too much to go on. Is anyone researching these lovely people? If so I would love to hear from you. Thank you. Judy G.
Thanks to Dallas C. whom I just subbed to the list, I got a break on my Joslin connection. I have been looking for descendants of Wallace and Mary Joslin that settled in Linn co., Oregon in 1870. I would truly urge you all to register in Genforum. I have been lucky with two different lines now. We are still looking for Wallace's parents in Kentucky. He was born there in 1830. There can't be THAT many Joslins there then. Does anyone have Kentucky records easily accessible? Gail Graham

Does anyone have information on the Joslin/Josslyn family from Medford, MA area? I am looking for Adelaide, my gr-XX grandmother who was born abt 1850. Lostcruff@aol.com
Amasa Chandler Joslyn b. 7/29/1816 was married at least twice. The first time to Eliza Farr in Ohio, June 1840. They lived in Ohio and Wisconsin. I believe he was born in New York but am not sure. I have Edith Wessler's Joslyn/Joslin Family book but cannot connect my immediate family line to the book. Abrahm Gustavus Joslyn b. 2/2/1849 Bristol, Wisconsin was son of Amasa Chandler and Clifford Farr Joslyn is Abrahm Gustavus' son. Abrahm Gustavus' in-laws (William H. Bush and Fanny C. Cross were both residents of Cortland Co., New York. Their daughter, Josephine Bush was born born in Bristol, Wisconsin.) I have found Joslyns in Cortland Co., New York and even Joslyns who moved from Cortland Co. to Wisconsin but I don't know their connection to Amasa Chandler Joslyn. I would very much appreciate any info that would help me go back farther than Amasa Chandler. Can anyone out there help me fill in the gaps? Thanks, NM

Hello Martie, The only thing I've seen showing a connection between Keigwin/Cagwin and the Joslin lin is a pulication I found in the Genealogical collection at the Stat of Michigan Library. The title is ; "Blackman and Allied Families," by Nathan Lincoln Blackman, 1928, Cs. 71 B639. It contained an excellant chapter relateing the Joslin line in Mass. from Thomas Joslin, the first to emigrate to America in 1635 down to a Sophia Joslin who married a Blackman and their child married a descendant of the Cagwin line. I hope this is of some help. Walter Joslin joslinvw@tir.com

Hi - Anyone else might recognize these JOCELYNs? Saw your post to the Joslin list. I have a Nancy JOCELYN (might be spelled JOSLIN?) who married Watson LEWIS and lived in Cincinnati, OH and Rising Sun, IN around the 1820-1850's time frame. She named a couple of her sons with the middle name of Addison and another JOCELYN (Jared C.) who lived in New Albany, IN also had a son named Addison. I suspect that Nancy and Jared C. are brother and sister although I have not confirmed this yet. There was also an Augustus JOCELYN who lived in Cincinnati at this time. Possibly another brother. I have old notes from another ancestor/decendent of Nancy that she and Watson married in CT although Watson's family was from Albany, NY prior to Cincinnati area. Might this fit in with your info at all? Have you seen any mention of these folks? Sure appreciate your time. I'll keep your lost families with my unidentified JOSLINS in the hope that I run accross those names. THANKS - Sincerely, Dev Cook
