    1. Strange Jocelyn
    2. brianknowles
    3. Hello anybody and everybody, I am researching a house that 'Sir Strange Jocelyn' was born in which is 'Great Hyde (Hide) Hall, Sawbridgeworth. Hertfordshire. UK He was born there in about 1660 and died about 1734. We have reason to believe that he might even be buried there due to his wish to be buried with his favourite horse but cannot confirm this. I would appreciate if anybody has :- 1). A known coat of arms for the 'Jocelyn' family 2). Does anybody know why or where I might find out if he 'was' knighted as I cannot find any knowledge in 'Rolls of Honour' or 'Knighthoods' etc. 3). Can anybody confirm his connection with the 'Quaker faith / religion ? Would appreciate any factual or thoughts / ideas re this family no matter how trivial it maybe. Many thanks Regards Brian Knowles

    1. Paul Joslin
    2. Hi, Im new to the list. My name is Connie Vance (Joslin-Panek-Gaiser-Vance). I am looking for my biological father's family. My mother, Judi Anderson at the time, became pregnant with me and my twin sister by Paul Joslin, but never married him. She married Carl Panek instead. I was later adopted by Richard Gaiser. Vance is my married name, of which I am now divorced. Confused yet? Paul Joslin was said to have been a "starving artist" and went off to California but returned and was living with a relative at the time of his death in the 70s near in or around Flint Michigan. If anyone has any info, please contact me! Thank you Connie

    3. Hi I am new to this list, I am trying to research my ancestors on the Josselyn side and have a problem. my Great grandmother was born Fannie Howland Josselyn as written on her birth record in Boston, MA. Listed as her father is George F. Josselyn from Maine an agent. This would put George in Boston in 1869. Does anyone have information on George F, Josselyn from Maine. I cannot find any record on him except for my great grandmothers birth. You can e-mail me at fran104@s-way.com Thank you in advance Fran

    1. Suffolk and Cambs families
    2. Colin Joselyn
    3. Are there any subscribers willing to exchange data on JOSLIN/JOSSELIN/JOSCELYN/JOSELYN families wandering between Suffolk, Essex, Cambs, Derbyshire, Hampshire, Cardiff, etc circa 1810-1890. This request stems from my having a list of JOSELYN names from 1881 Census that probably aren't mine! Even to a sailor from Devon on a ship in Hampshire. It would just be nice to "scrap" those I can forget about and gather from others holding a similar list, ones that belong to me but are spelled differently. I rather envy those researching a Josl...n name where large families kept stationary in one village for a long spell. Thanks. Joan.
