I had earlier today asked for a lookup in the Census (probably the 1900 one, I don't know if she was still a Jordan then or already married to John L. Carney) for Katie Jordan, born 1883, probably in Louisiana. I'm trying to find who her parents and siblings were and ran across a little more info. In the 1880 Census there is a Van Jordan listed with wife, Melissa, and children, George, Thomas, Wilson, Andrew, and Sarah in Middle Creek, Sabine Parish, LA. I am wondering if Katie could be a daughter, born later in 1883. Also I have found, buried in the same cemetery as Katie Jordan (Carney), a listing for E. Vander Jordan, b. Nov. 11, 1848 and d. Dec. 31, 1924, his wife Malissa Wiley Jordan, b. Dec. 28, 1853 and d. July 30, 1933. Also Jim Jordan, b. July 8, 1872 and d. Jan. 19, 1951, and Will J. Jordan, B. Aug. 9, 1871 and d. Mar. 28, 1950.
