Elijah Warren Jordan is a 1st cousin to my gt gt grandmother Sarah Ann Jordan who md Nathan Dean. Elijah Warren Jordan was a post master at Fitts Hill. One evening he was drinking and playing cards at my gt gt grandfather John Morris's place with a couple of Williams brothers. They got into a fight over 23 cents. John Williams pulled out his knife and cut EW Jordan on the face and arms. He stood up, pulled out his pistol and fired a couple of shots into John Williams, killing him and walked out. He didn't get far when Charlie Williams came up behind him and laid a hatchet into his head which caused E W Jordan's death soon afterwards. It was a sad thing to have happen. E W Jordan left a wife and 5 children. I believe that Charlie Williams was sent to prison for 15 yrs. How many of you knew about this tragedy?
