THIS IS NOT MY LINE-----someone mentioned a Absalom Jordan and here is evidence for an earlier one. He may be the one mentioned as early as 1737 in Goochland. May be a connection, may not be. Joseph TATE, Edward HUNTER Proved Oct Court 1760

I think there is a connection between this 1737 Absalom who went to Rowan Co., NC 1760s and Jonas Jordan who appears in Amelia Co. late 1730s through late 1760s before moving on to Bedford. Jonas d. 1785 -- his eldest son is name Absalom. This Absalom (Jr) named a son 'Sashwell" which I believe is near enough to "Sharshal" to have the same 'root' -- Sharshall appears among the children of Thomas Jordan d. 1809 in Culpeper Co. Thomas named sons: Absolam, William, Sharshall, George, Thomas, William and John. And then going a bit farther, the first Absalom married Mary Walton; Jeremiah Jordan of Caroline Co. married Louisa Walton. Based on those "coincidences" I think these are brothers -- Jeremiah is the most tentative: 1. Absalom in Goochland and Albemarle Cos VA who married Mary Walton before Jan 1758 -- per Wulfeck -- then moved to Rowan Co.
