Recently, at the Albemarle County Historical Society, Charlottesville, VA, I located a small book: MARRIAGES of some VIRGINIA RESIDENTS 1607-1800, by Dorothy Ford Wulfeck, Volume I Surnames A-H, pub. 1986 Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc., Baltimore, MD. The librarian photocopied the Jordans for me (pp. 65-69), but I neglected to ask her to photocopy the legend which would identify the volumes cited below (will go back and get). There are two entries for Thomas, b. 1600, as follows: JORDAN, Thomas, b. 1600; d. 1685; m. Lucy Carter. 31V359 JORDAN, Thomas, b. 1600, England, son of Samuel, who came to Va., in 1609, m. Lucy Corker, dau. of Capt. William Corker of Surry Co., sis. of Susanna. They res. in Isle of Wight Co. Proven by will of William Corker, dated 1677, Surry Co. 7W(1)232; Halifax, p. 215. Just wanted the list members to know that apparently some proof exists for the Lucy Corker marriage. I will try to track this down as soon as I can, but if someone else has access to Surry Co. Wills, please go ahead with this one. Faye McBurney Researching two evidences of Jordans in my family (which may be one), and the Jordan/Davis ancestry of my nephews.
