I'm researching Thomas M. Jordan born 7 March 1812 in old Barnwell District, SC who died 8 Dec. 1893 in Winnsboro, SC. His parents were said to have died when he was quite young. He learned the carriage trade in Augusta, GA. According to census records of 1880, his father was from Virginia and his mother was from Georgia. He married Frances Elizabeth Walker in 1839.
