    2. I am descended from the GA/FL Jordans. There are some difficulties in documentation due to the fact that even my grandmother's birth certificate was registered with the county years after her birth. In addition, her brother's were not given middle names until they entered the armed services and were required by the government to have at least a middle initial.     3. The problem with your grandmother's birth record may be settled by a census record, if she is listed in either the 1920 or 1930 census. That is an interesting fact about your great-uncles. My father only has a middle initial, too. This could be the reason! I will keep that in mind.
