Charlotte, Thanks for keeping me in mind, but after reading your line I'm afraid this isn't going to be my Jordans. I'm descended from Garrett Gannet Jordan b. 1794 in SC and married to Lucy ?? probably about 1821. They had six children born in Edgefield, SC: Uriah Emily Nancy Serena Absolum Martha Then, sometime between 1830 and 1837, they moved to Georgia where Lucy (also called Martha Lucy) was born. In 1840, a son, Garrett, was born in Alabama. The mother of this brood died and father married Mary E. Atkinson in 1845. At some point, they moved on to Arkansas where Lucy married John T. Green. I'm not sure if all of the children followed their father and stepmother as Lucy did. I know Emily died in Arkansas, but Absolum's children were born in AL and I don't have death dates for any of them. As you can see, my information is sketchy at best and most of it came from another researcher, although I am convinced that his information is reliable.
