Nancy Lee Jordan is my grandmother. I understand she was born in Anniston, Calhoun County, Al. abt 1884. I know nothing about her parents but I understood she was of Cherokee Heritage. Shemarried my grandfather, Damiel F. Maples in 1902. I am assuming in either Alabama or Texas as I found them in the 1910 Census living in Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., TX. She died in Amarillo, Potter CO., TX sometime in 1927. I have been unable to get any more information on her. My grandfather, mother and all her siblings have also passed away, so I am up against a brick wall. I would appreciate any help to point me in the right direction. Dorothy Jewel Pruitt ( My mother was Jewel Maples) who died in 1932.
If you can find a death certificate for them, it should give the names of their parents, your GGrandparents. Or sometimes if you can find the obits you can get a lot of information from them unless you get one like I did the other day, it said: He is survived by his wife, 6 sons, 3 daughters, 4 brothers, 2 sisters and a host of other relatives. NO NAMES!!!!! Good Luck!
