    3. Sarah L. J. Jordan married Jacob A. Sims, 24 March 1870 in Pike County, Alabama. I don't know anything else about her except for the 2 children attributed to them. I would very much like to hear from someone who might have a clue as to her parentage and where she was born. Joyce Sims Severt

    1. Anna "Maria" [JORDAN] Russell Jones, b. 1833 in PA/parents b. in GA

    3. 1880 United States Census (Census Place: Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) 1880 Household Record: John M. Jones (b. 1820 in PA), Wheelwright & Step-father of William Gray Russell, son of William Russell, Sr., b. PA, (deceased by 1851) & Anna "MARIA" JORDAN Russell Jones/ "Maria Jones" on 1880 Census, age 47/ b. 1832/1833 in PA to parents born in GA. NOTE: The Jones family and Wm G Russell were all living at 217 Greenwich Street, Philadelphia in 1864 when WGR was attending the City High School, according to the school's archived records. ANNA MARIA JORDAN RUSSELL'S FIRST CHILD BY HER FIRST HUSBAND at age 17/18: William was married to Sarah Branch Jennings at the time of this 1880 census, because their son, William "Willie" Russell was born in 1880. This was his second marriage and they had three more children before she died. I am puzzled why he is not on the census with his wife, unless she needed special care and had to stay with her family until the baby was born so he could continue to work. William Gray Russell was also widowed after his first child, Mabel Russell was born 1878-1879 to he and his first wife (name unknown). William Gray Russell (age 29, b. Oct 1850 in PA) was a Clerk on 1880 Census and so was his half-brother, George Jones (age 27, b. 1852 in PA). George Jones was probably born to widow Anna Maria Jordan Russell and her second husband, John M. Jones, when she was 19/20, but there is the less likely chance that George Jones was John M. Jones' son by his first marriage -- I didn't know my g-grandfather had a half-brother until this 1880 census went "on-line". I know nothing more, except for a rumor that ANNA MARIA JORDAN was of American Indian descent, so if you know of a daughter born to a JORDAN family in GEORGIA in 1832/1833 named "Anna Maria" or just "Maria", since she went by her middle name only in 1880, please let me know! THANK YOU! God Bless You! God Bless America! In God We Trust! From Sea to Shining Sea, America Bless God in 2003! 3. Searching for information on my great grandfather Thomas Albert Jordan, b. 30 Nov 1835, probably in Lauderdale, Tennessee. Married Elizabeth Blackwell Gause. He died in Garvin County, OK 3 October, 1911 and is buried in Green Hill Cemetery, Davis, OK. His parents were William Jordan and Mary Bell, both of whom died in Obion County, TN. Family tales say Thomas was one of a large family of children, maybe 17, ten of them girls. Thomas and Elizabeth had a daughter, Mary Truma b. 24 October 1870 in Dyersburg, TN. Elizabeth died when Mary Truma was a baby. Thomas remarried and had a daughter Emma by the second wife. I will appreciate any information or leads someone may have.
