There may be a connection for Exum. There was a John Jordan (c.1712-1754). He was probable youngest son of George Jordan and Mary Browne. He originally lived on Lightwood swamp in southern Surry Co. near his father and then moved to Southampton Co. VA. John had a son William who administered his father's estate in 1754. It appears William married Mary Exum (from court records) by 1753. I have never found the children of this William Jordan, but it could be that this is a connection. If there are any living male members of this family, they would be good candidates for testing against my DNA (Arthur Jordan line from Surry Co. VA).
