Thought I would add another Joseph to the database. Joseph Evans Jordan b. 1880 Lawrence Co. TN son of Jackson Monroe Jordan and Mary McGee m. Wayne Co. TN 1872. Joseph was a twin to Annie Bell. Joseph Evans grew up in/around Florence AL, Lauderdale Co. He is on the 1900 census with his brother Willie (William) and "down the road a piece" from his brother James C. Jordan and wife Edna. By 1910 he is in TX with his wife, "Neta" and young family (they had also homesteaded in OK and spent a brief time in KS) My father Marvin Evans Jordan b. April 16, 1909 in Ochiltree Co. TX is still living. In about 1920 they returned to New Hope AL near Juanita "Neta" Poarch's family (the mother) and by about 1923 they are in GRAVELLY SPRINGS, AL Lauderdale Co.. They spent some time there and in Cherokee, Colbert Co. AL. The children (8) were grown, graduating from high school or getting married. They settled in Siloam Springs AR near John Brown University where they are buried near the Cathedral of the Ozarks. Marvin E. JORDAN graduated in 1937 from JBU. Marvin E. Jordan is a retired Methodist Minister. His maternal grandfather Rev. Henry Edward Poarch was a circuit riding Methodist Minister and was assigned the circuit about 1859 which included what is now Cherokee, Colbert Co. AL. I think it was called the Tescumbia Circuit which is another town nearby. This is on the south side of the Tennessee River across from Gravelly Springs in Lauderdale Co. AL Don't know if there is any relation to the William Jordan of 1860 in Gravelly Springs AL b. AL, but thought I would add this Joseph to the database. His grandfather was Archibald Moore Jordan b. NC and great grandfather was Enoch Jordan who must have died after 1830 but before 1840 in Giles Co. TN. Thanks, La Nita Jordan Wacker Shoreline, WA
