    1. Re: [JORDAN] Jordan/Jurdan
    2. Well, hello Cousin Abigail, I am descended from Mortimer Harvie Jordan through his daughter Margaret who married Joseph Riley Smith. Their daughter, Emma Smith married (Isaac) Rose Wellington Owen Their daughter Mittie Rose Owen married Edmund Richardson McDavid, who were my great grandparents. The Owen Plantation House still exists in McCalla, Alabama as a house museum. There is also a Sadler and a McAdory House. IThey are very rural farmhouses owned by the West Jefferson County Historical Society and the President is your cousin and mine, William Gresham who is a Prince, Jordan and a Robinson. Have you been to any of the Jordan/Prince/Robinson reunions? There hasn't been one for quite a few years. We have a gathering here about once a year of all the descendants of the pioneer families who started out in the Jones Valley which is Bessemer /McCalla. We have a family dinner and there are usually about 85 of us. We are not all related to everyone at the gathering, but those families intermarried so much alot of us are related, sometimes 2 and 3 times! The pioneer families are Sadler, McAdory, Gillespy, Owen, Smith, Jordan, McDavid. Since I organize it, I basically invite everyone I am related to and there are all sorts of relations found. I have skipped the last 2 years because the Owen House needs some major repair work and that is where we were having our gatherings. Connie Grund
