I, too, am looking for a James & Frances Jourdan/Jordan. All I can find is in the 1870 US FEDERAL CENSUS-ALABAMA-MOBILE BEAT 2 Ancestry.com Image 17 of 84 148-148 Jordan Frances-69-M(F)-W-HouseKeeping-SC, later found a death certificate stating she was born in France. In the household was William Jordan-17-M-W-At Home-AL, A James Johnson-35-M-W-Coal Burner-MS, his wife, Sarah-23 B: AL, and son Joseph-2 B:AL. There was a James Jordan/Jerdan/Jourdan in Mobile, AL at the same time who was listed on William Henry Jordan's marriage license when he married in 1872. There was some speculation that Francis was married to a James Jordan before his death, but where or when??? Could your Jourdans connect with these listed above?
