I have been away for a few days and I am trying to catch up on all the Jordan e-mails. There are several places that I see Samuel Jordan spoken of as the father of Thomas I....has anyone corrected that info? Samuel Jordan came to Jamestown, but we are not sure of the date, around 1610 and there is no proof that Thomas I was his son. The Virginia Jordans that descend from Thomas I, (born in 1600 in England we think) start at Thomas I . We have not proved back any further than that. Every once in a while when someone new joins the Jordan rootsweb we have to update them on the latest info on the Thomas I, the Virginia line. I so wish we could claim Samuel and trace him back to France, but it hasn't been done yet. It is a big disappointment to have to erase names from your genealogy chart. I remember how disappointed I was to find out that the Samuel/Thomas line was not proven. Connie Grund
