    3. Dear Faye, I don't know if this will help you at all but you might try rootsweb and go in under my ggg-grandfather's name. From the way JORDAN/JOURDAN is spelled on the census you found it is pronouced like my ancestors as JOURDAN. Would you happen to know what the H. stood for in his name? Could it have been HARVIE, as Janette HARVIE married into the family? My ggg-grandfather was Mortimer JORDAN/JOURDAN m Lucy Scott GRAY. He was the son of Reuben JORDAN/JOURDAN m Janette HARVIE. Try looking under some of those lines and see what you come up with; John is such a common name that it is hard to find anything.
