The Normans came originally from Scandanavia - hence "Norsemen - Norman". They were Viking marauders who settled in what became Normandy. So it would appear to be logical that if our Jordan ancestors came over with William the Conquerer in 1066, they would share DNA with some Nordic groups. >From someone who thinks they also descend from Samuel Jordan but can't find a direct male line in our tree to check it out.
