    1. [JORDAN] Jordan DNA test results from Family Tree DNA
    2. We have received the first 12 marker test results for the descendants of William Enoch Jordan b 1803 in NC. The exciting news is that we have a match with a descendant of George Jordan b 1784 in or near Bedford Co, VA. We are hoping that male descendants of other Jordan families who migrated along the same path as George also participate. We strongly believe that the descendants of the following Jordan were related to George: WILLIAM JORDAN, SR. (CHARLES WESLEY, SAMUEL, THOMAS, THOMAS, SAMUEL) was born 1750 in Goochland County, VA, and died May 20, 1817 in Breckenridge Co., KY. He married (1) ELIZABETH (ELIZA) WOODSON November 16, 1771 in Goochland Co, VA, daughter of JOSEPH WOODSON. He married (2) LUCY STITH June 15, 1780 in Bedford Co., VA. If you are a descendant of this family or know one, please contact me. An interesting but confusing result of the test was the > RECENT ETHNIC > ORIGINS (REO) report. According to Bennett Greenspan at Family Tree DNA> , " It is clear that you are part of HG2, one of the 2 Nordic Haplogroup. See how close this sample matched the results of the Viking papers." My questions are: 1. What is a Haplogroup 2. What is HG2 3. Have any of you done the DNA test and found similar REO results: Iceland or Norway as the indicated country of origin for your Jordan family See my webpage at the following URL for more information about the DNA testing and the results: http://jordannctoal.homestead.com/DNAindex.html Larry Jordan Visit my genealogy sites at: http://jordannctoal.homestead.com/index.html http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/j/o/r/Larry-E-Jordan/
