I am descendant of Edward Jordan through his son Labon Jordan born 1788 in Va. Not only would I have lots of questions, I would like to tell them how proud I am of them. They traveled from Va to Tn in 1800's. That would have been a long and difficult trip. Wonder how long it took them? They must have been very sturdy people! Can you imagine trying to read or study by candle light? And for you gals out there, how on earth did they manage to cook with a fireplace? My father was born in Tn in 1800's and would tell me that his Mother made the best ash cake in a fireplace.Guess she just made a batter and put it over hot coals. So we should all be thankful we live in this day and age. M.E.
