My gosh Eliza, how brave of you to, at age 50, to leave your home here on the Maine coast and follow Clement all the way to Iowa. My, you must have stories to tell. AND you Clement how about your service in War of 1812? Can you tell us about life on the privateer "Dart" and later when in Havana Cuba the news arrived of victory. How come you after 40 years at sea retired in 1848 and moved most of your family to Iowa.
