I joined the JORDAN list because I have looked, almost five years now, to find by elusive gr-gr-grandfather, John JORDAN, (b) abt 1830 PA, and thought, possibly, I would get information that would help me pin-point my search. What I've concluded, from queries made to the LIST, is that the rest of the JORDAN families are having as hard a time, pinpointing their JORDAN ancestors, as I have had. I suppose, that is why the DNA testing needs to be done. My question is, I am not a direct JORDAN descendent. John Jordan was my maternal gr-gr grandfather. My mother said she was PA Dutch. I have not been able to locate any of her maternal PA family, since they obviously moved quite a bit. Should I just give up on trying to find them? I have recently spent weeks (all day and into the evening) going thru census records at the NARA and FHC, but have come up "zero". Donna Broberg
